Dear Iceland,
I haven't meet you yet and I miss you already.
Could be the cold? Could be the sounds of wind or water or ship? Or could be all the sounds together? Could be the fullness and emptyness in a soft embrace welcoming from the distance. Some day we'll see our faces and your hard and sweet eyes and your cold and clean breath will be the warmest welcome to a new friendship. Until then...

I planned seriously to do that hike (but without the glacier walk and the canoas) for the past september, then the global crisis struck me too, and I had to meddle with other stuff. But to know that someone else did it and enjoyed it so much, it's some pleasure to ease my feeling of having missed something great. You know, many pther people have done it in the past, so isn't exactly as risky as crossing Tibet or Congo, but that's an amazing adventure for an amazing country. Hope to find the time to do it myself. Hey, may you please publish a list of all the stuff (with quantities and weight) you carried on? It helps! Thanks.

I wish I could be younger to try such an adventure, but as I am not it's enough to hear someone has done it and admire such courage and see how lucky these boys are to have seen that beauty that only can be seen by the braves...

Well hello Iceland. My name is Trent and I am Canadian. While I currently live in Vancouver, British Columbia, my family roots are in Iceland. You may not know it from my name, however, my mother, amma and afi were Icelanders who hail from Arnes, Manitoba.

Although I have never had the opportunity to visit you, I am planning to do so in the near future. I hear that the best time to enjoy festivals is in August. If so, you can count on seeing me soon!

Knitting has grown in popularity in Canada recently too. We have a knitting club at the school where I work.
